Step 1: Legally acquire a DRM-free mp3

Step 2: Listen to the mp3 and select a 30 second clip that you like best, note how far into the mp3 the clip starts.

Step 3: Download mpTrim, install and run it.

Step 4: Click open and browse for your mp3 file.

Step 5: Trim from the start of the mp3 file until you get to the part you noted earlier.

Step 6: Trim from the end of the mp3 file until you get a 30 second clip.

Step 7: Set the fade in and fade out bars to 1.5 seconds each.

Step 8: Click Save As, to make sure you don't destroy the original file.

Step 9: Transfer the new mp3 to your phone, if you can set it as a ringtone the your all done, if not then proceed to the next step.

Step 10: Download Mobile Media Converter, install and run it.

Step 11: Click on the plus sign to add the trimmed mp3 file.

Step 12: Set the convirsion to AMR and high quality, then click convert now.

Step 13: Transfer the amr file to your mobile phone via a usb cable or bluetooth, and set it as your ringtone.
